Lička Plješivica

Lička Plješivica is a mountain barrier more than 100km long dividing Lika from Pounje and Bosnia and Herzegovina. From Lička Plješivica you may enjoy the view of the whole Lika, Velebit, Krbavsko Polje and the mountains of the neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina. Lička Plješivica is known for its thick forests, almost jungle like and utterly rich flora and fauna. In the 16th century Lička Plješivica used to be called the Devil’s Garden.
Its peak Ozeblin (1657m) lies in the southwest. We find the most interesting peak to be Gola Plješivica 1648 m in the northwest side of the mountain range. You can see the remains of the complex of the former Yugoslav Army and in the vicinity there is a rock called Lička kapa (Lika cap), being an inexhaustible inspiration for Instagram photos. It is said that this was the very rock by which the Lika’s cap was inspired. On sunny days you may enjoy an exquisite view, one can see Koreničko polje, Plitvička jezera, Velebit,Mrsinj and across the Bosnian border the town of Bihać and the military airport. It is told to be one of the most beautiful lookouts in Croatia.
